Makeup for small eyes might be a true challenge. However, knowing some certain rules and tricks in practice, we can make our little eyes look bigger. If your eyes are quite small and you want to optically enlarge them, we have some practical makeup tips for you.
How to enlarge your eyes with a makeup?
Eyebrows are extremely important when it comes to the makeup for small eyes. Properly emphasized eyebrows can help us optically enlarge our eyes. Poorly marked eyebrows make face look blank, inexpressive. Although, too accented eyebrows, instead of helping, can only cause harm. Balance is the key to success. To Optically enlarge your eyes, it is recommended to slightly extend the ends of the eyebrows with a pencil.
A certain color of eyeshadows can effectively enlarge our eyes or make them look even smaller than they really are. Right after applying a foundation on the eyelids, it’s also good to sprinkle them with a powder – thanks to this, the shadows will not fall into the crease of your eyelids.
Let’s keep in mind that people with small eyes should choose rather bright eyeshadows – the best will be shades of silver and ivory. Applying light, warm colors to the central part of the eyelids will optically extend and enlarge them. Use rather matte or slightly shimmering eyeshadows – too luminous ones will make the composition look heavy.
Why people with small eyes shouldn’t use dark colors? Dark colors make eyes look optically smaller. Eyeshadows with dark colors and cool shades are used just to make the eye catch the attention – they are applied in a small amount in the outer corner and the eyelid crease.
To open your eyes, apply a bright shade in the Inner corner.
The eyeshadow color should be chosen according to the color of our eyes – so blue-eyed women will look the best with brown eyeshadows, green-eyed – with purples, and brown-eyed women should choose blue and gray shades.
How to emphasize and enlarge your eyes?
After applying some eyeshadow, our makeup for small eyes is already half done. We can go directly to the next stage, which is a pencil and Eyeliner application. If you’re not experienced in using Eyeliner, you can use a pencil. However, it is worth getting familiar with this cosmetic, because it can become our greatest ally in eye enlargement. If we don’t have enough practice, our adventure with applying Eyeliner may end with a too thick and heavy line, which in effect will optically reduce our eyes.
While drawing a line, we should start from the Inner corner of the eye and head towards the outside – the line should be getting thicker and end with a flirtatious triangle (the so-called cat’s eye). If you have one, use a dark blue Eyeliner that will draw the whiteness of the eye and additionally make the eye look brighter and larger. The pencil on the lower part of the eye should emphasize no more than 1/3 of the line starting from the outside
Marking eyelashes with plenty of mascara will make our eyes optically enlarged immediately. Let’s curl eyelashes and then apply mascara – it’s enough to apply mascara just to the upper part of the eye. We recommend applying most of the mascara to the outer part of the eyelashes. We don’t have to use only Black mascara – if we have one, let’s use the dark blue mascara color that combined with the white of the eyeballs will make our eyes appear larger and brighter.
Summary: As we can see, makeup for small eyes is not as difficult as it may initially seem. We should keep a few rules in our minds and pay attention to colors – just like in art, colors can improve or worsen an image, just as in cosmetics, properly selected colors can make our small eyes optically enlarged.
